But Vikki, where were you standing when you got these pictures?!

HERE:

(let it fully upload before watching)

I spent the rest of the day looking for internet access.  First drove to Custer City.  Their library was closed.  Drove to the hospital and school hoping to find something.  Drove up and down the main street with the promise of a connection only to lose it halfway loading a page.  SUCH A TEASE!

Decided to drive to Rapid City… there’s got to be something there.

The drive was pleasant, but really I only had one thing on my mind.  Ok, two things…. get on-line and find a campsite for the night.  My hope was to make it to Keystone (Mount Rushmore) by night fall.  It was hard to leave the wilderness for civilization.

It was about 3pm by the time I reached the library.  Thank you Jesus, we have a connection!

IMG_1876

Believe it or not, I shut the place down.  I was right in the middle of a download when everything stopped.  I looked up to see the librarian turning off the lights.  Nice she didn’t tell me to ‘beat it.’

I started down the highway toward Keystone and decided to get a hotel for the night.

So here I am.  I think it was a good choice as the poodles ate dinner, chewed a bone and are now twitching and snorting in deep deer and bunny dreamland.

Once again the weather threatens…. what will tomorrow bring?

Vikki, I’m so envious, I want to be there too. Don’t fall in love with any other part of the country; we want you to come back to us. –j
